Music is a part of everyone's life. It is an art of expressing ideas and emotions in momentous sound forms by using the elements of rhythm, melody and harmony through voices, instruments, or both. Music plays a great role in everyone’s life. It keeps us busy in free time and makes our life peaceful. The word music is used in two senses. It may mean sounds so combined as to make a pleasant impression on the mind, as when we say, the music played by the ensemble at the concert was very fine. There are various types of music which we can enjoy according to our need and condition. Some of us are used to of listening music during the study time, during going to bed, playing indoor or outdoor game and other moments. It keeps us away from all the problems of life and gives solutions.
However, everyone wants to listen music in their extra time to get some enjoyment and relief their mind. Slow sound music gives us relief and peace. It makes us healthy mentally and spiritually. I love music a lot listen always. It has no limitations, drawbacks and guidelines; it only needs anyone to listen or play keenly with full dedication. When we listen music, it bring amazing feeling in the heart and mind which connects our spirit to the supernatural power of God. A person who has the talent to compose beautiful music, or who is an expert player on a musical instrument, is called a musician.
All sound is not music. Many sounds, like loud shouting, the clamor of traffic in the streets, the barking of dogs, are simply noises. Mere noise, and discords (that is, the sounding of notes together which do not agree), produce no pleasing effects on the mind, but on the contrary are often irritating and disturbing. It is only when the sounds are so combined that they please the ear, and have a relaxing, inspiring or pleasantly exciting effect on the hearers, that they become music. Why certain combinations of sound please us, while others irritate and dislike us, we cannot tell; any more than we can explain why we call some things beautiful, and others ugly.
Music consists of beautiful sounds. But as people’s ideas of what is beautiful differ very much, so there are many kinds of music, some of which please some people and do not please others, from the magnificent compositions of musicians of talent, to the vulgar popular songs and tunes of the common music-hall.
Only those people of can appreciate the music who has educated musical taste, while the common people are bored with what is called classical music, find pleasure only in what musicians would call vulgar tunes. Soft and sweet music soothes the wearied, mothers send cranky children to sleep with gentle music and grand music will fill strong men with great hopes and aspiration. There are some disastrous people who have no ear for music at all, and cannot tell one tune from another; and there are more who, while they can hear music, will never care for it. But these are omission; for music appeals more or less to most people.
But to appreciate good music, requires the farming of the musical taste, just as it requires education to appreciate the best pictures and the best books. Pleasant music has such a refining effect, and appeals to and a wake such noble emotions, that the taste for it is well worth cultivating. Hence music must to have a far more important place in education than it has today.
